Outdoor Recess

Outdoor play is important year-round, and Westlake tries to give students outdoor recess as often as possible. During cold temperatures and inclement weather, students need to have appropriate outerwear in order to participate in outdoor recess.

Temperature/Windchill

When the temperature is between 10–40 degrees Fahrenheit, students will usually go outside for recess. They must have a hat, coat, and gloves/mittens in order to play outside.

Snow

When there is snow on the ground, students need their “Winter Five” - hat, coat, gloves, boots, snow pants.
